Greetings from South Africa.  Since January 21st-30th , I and five other pastors from the US have been in South Africa.  I organized this trip because I wanted pastors who are friends of mine to visit Zimele.  Zimele is a NGO that Metro helped launch two years ago.  Zimele, is Zulu for “standing on my own.”  In two years, Zimele has helped several thousand Zulu people in the Kwazulu Natal region to become economically self sufficient.  Zimele does not believe in hand outs which is a systemic problem in most third world countries, they believe in hand ups.  Many of us have good intentions when we try to help the poor and under resourced, but the vicious cycle that we often perpetuate is dependence.  We do not help the under resourced in a macro sense when we buy them a fish to eat.  The goal of Zimele is to teach people how to fish, so that they can catch their own.  I believe in this organization and I hope you will check them out at here.

My belief and trust in Zimele is such that I invited five pastors from around the US: Eugene Cho, Lead Pastor of Quest Church in Seattle, Washington; Nancy Sugikawa, Pastor of Light House Church in Bellevue, Washington; Brian Kim, Lead Pastor of NewSong Church in North Orange County, CA;  Alex Gee, Lead Pastor of Foundation of Life Church in Madison, Wisconsin; and Dave Swaim, Lead Pastor of High Rock Church in Boston, MA.  The goal of this trip was to expose each pastor to the systemic problems of poverty and the AIDS Pandemic in Kwazulu Natal.  Each day 300 people die of AIDS in Kwazulu Natal.  Each pastor experienced first hand the deep level of poverty and destruction here in Kwazulu Natal.  And at the same time, they have seen the amazing hope that Zimele is providing for the Zulu people here.  Thousands of them are at a place where they have become economically self sufficient.  Each pastor has been impacted by what Zimele is doing and they have decided to support it.  This support will look different for each pastor and church.  My greatest goal was to create long term relationships between these pastors (and their respective churches) and Zimele, and that has happened for sure.

Also, we have had such a great time fellowshipping.  Our relationships have all deepened as a result of this trip and that is a very good thing.  I can see our churches collaborating in the future on other projects.  Who knows where God will take this.

On this trip, I am reminded again that one person can make a difference.  God can use you and me to change the world.  The challange is will we believe it?  It is so easy to believe in medocrity or the staus quo, but being on this trip, God has reminded me that he can use one person to impact lives.  It only takes one to begin a transformational process of epic proportions.  Don’t think that it has to be through someone else.  Maybe, it has to be through you!  Something to think and pray about, eh?

Peter, I am glad that your trip was such a success, and I can only imagine how God will grow the ministry of Zimele through these new relationships! You are in my prayers as you move ahead. May God be glorified through your continued investment in this ministry. Blessings, Carolyn Larson

I want to appreciate what you are doing in the Lord’s vineyards and i said to myself, what is preventing me from copying, emulating and if possible associating with such great figure in the Lord. So man of God, i will like to build a good and strong relationship with you and work alongside you in the courtyard of the lord and as such i request if you can come over to my country “Nigeria” or i myself comeover to your country for a program. I am Prophet Uti Joseph. I was born in Warri in Delta State on 5th day of February, 1975. I’m from Ndoni in Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema Local Government of Rivers State.
I was called as a minister of God’s servant at the tender age of seven during my mother’s period of “prophetic ministry” at Omoku in Rivers state under the Assemblies of Christ church.
I grew up as a child and also as an Evangelist under my mother. On December 31, 1987, on God’s instruction, my mother moved down to Asaba, the present capital of Delta State to start up a new ministry known as “Gethsemane Christ church”. I was the lay preacher until 1990 when my elder brother came down from Port Harcourt to join us by name today, apostle uti Christopher.
His coming to join myself and my mother gave the opportunity to function well in my evangelical ministry I started up the bone shall live world evangelical outreach I was able by his grace to raise young powerful preachers like evangelist Oputa Favor, Evangelist Okolie Peter, Evangelist Okolie Chukwudi and two others like Osumade peter and his twin brother Osumade Paul.
In August 2006, I went into full time ministry and founded what is today known as power pack anointing Ministry. As I am writing today God is blessing many souls through the ministry the barren bear, the bond loosed, the deaf hear, curses broken, families delivered, etc.
Today God has blessed me with a new powerful ministerial gift of prophecy. The prophetic ministry. It is now a full fledged ministry of deliverance and prophetic utterances and prophetic utterances and messages to God be are the glory.

    Jesus is lord.

Zimele has real done what its name says and I am proud of them, thanks to the people who has allowed God to use them to reach out to the people of that area.

I pray that our small group will also grow and serve our community.
